Bikes of GBDURO22
8 August, 2022
GBDURO poses one of the greatest kit-list conundrums for riders; a 2,000km mixed-terrain route with three checkpoints where many riders will be waiting for a day or more and are disallowed from sleeping indoors, unlike previous years.
Riders equip themselves for both the riding and the resting, not to mention the notorious British weather. But with so much equipment to keep them comfortable at checkpoints, could this make them more likely to stop and slip into their tents mid-stage? Or will they push on for the relative comfort of the CPs?

Bike: I'll be riding my Canyon Grizl SLX; AKA "DADDY". I've got some Apidura bags, some aerobars and a water bottle that I think I found at the arch? My dynamo front wheel was built with precision by the most excellent Max at the Cyclery Lewisham and all of the wiring was generously done by Alex from LVCC. I decided it was probably a good idea to be both as slow and as uncomfortable as possible, so I am running some 45s with almost no tread on them and I am bringing neither a tent nor a sleeping bag.
