Bike: Cannondale Topstone 2 with Pirelli all-road 45mm. A simple bike that has accompanied me over the last 10,000 km. At the moment, I am experimenting with a 40-tooth chainring at the front and a 10–48 cassette. The derailleur is a Microshift—couldn’t be simpler—and the brakes are about as basic as those on a shopping cart. The keyword: simplicity.

Key items of kit: My kit includes an inflatable sleeping pad and a bivy bag, along with some food and the tools needed for repairs. I carry everything in three bags: two frame bags and one saddle bag. I also bring a rain jacket and a 100 g down jacket for nighttime breaks. For lighting, I use two 1000-lumen front lights and a red flashing rear light.
