Bike: Introducing the sleek and sturdy Cannondale Carbon Ultegra RX 2 with a 2x11 Ultegra groupset, designed to tackle both on and off-road adventures with grace and grit. Rolling on the Hunt 4 Season Superdura Disc wheelset paired with the reliable SON hub dynamo ensures your lights never go dim, no matter how far you ride — unless, of course, you decide to climb those mountains at a snail's pace. Clad in Continental Grand Prix 5000 tires (30x622), smooth sailing is guaranteed even on roads that feel like they've been paved by a herd of stampeding elephants.
For those extra comfy miles, my bike is equipped with Profildesign A135 aerobars, complete with 40 mm spacers to keep me cruising in comfort. With so many elevation gains on the horizon, I wonder just how often I'll be leaning on these bars!
Key items of kit: My bikepacking setup is a blend of practicality and a dash of whimsy. Sleeping under the stars is a breeze with my sleep system: a cozy down sleeping bag, an ultralight mat, and a snug MSR bivy. Lighting up the night is the Supernova E3 Pure 3 dynamo light, complemented by the compatible Supernova E3 Tail Light 2.
The Topeak Backloader (15L) might be a bit large for an ultracycling race, but it offers plenty of space for carrying a lot of food — because snack breaks are essential! The rest of my bags are custom-made from refelctive fabrics, perfectly tailored to fit my frame.
