Don't feel the need to pack much as we mostly will be riding through populated areas. If I need something along the way, I will just buy it.

Knut Alsemgeest

Name: Knut Alsemgeest

Age: 42

Cap number: 93

Location: Schipluiden, Netherlands

Bike: Idworx Rock 'n Rohler 29er with Big Apple roadtires. As a newby into ultra bikeraces I just converted by MTB into a roadbikecarrier. I doubted for half a year between picking my road race bike or my converted MTB bike. Ergonomy won me over. With a Jones H-bar mounted I'm sitting more upright, have more available barpositions and a sturdy and stable bike. Weight of the bike is too much for what I would like, but won't be a problem in the Netherlands. Maybe only in the South this will be a disadvantage going up short steep hills. Anyway, what do I know.

Key items of kit: Topeak saddle bag, Topeak front bag carrier and small Restrap bag for toptube. As a first timer I aim for sleeping in hotels, B&B's, 'vrienden op de fiets', to travel as light as possible. I'll be carrying a minimum of clothing, two 900ml bottles and the necessary food for a day. Main goal is to finish this race within 9 days.

Baptistine Smets

Name: Baptistine Smets

Age: 32

Cap number: 8

Location: Bruxelles, Belgium

Bike: Genesis Croix de fer 20 - 2021 - alt color - full steel.

Key items of kit: I think the best thing I have is my aero bar bag because I can store all the food I want in this extra bag. I don't need to comprise with the other bags. I could call it "my big food pouch" (7L) in fact. I'm equiped by Ena bags so it's full custom made bags that fit my bike very well. This year, I'm sleeping in hotel or trekkershuten so no need for a bivy and a tent.

Wessel Kremer

Name: Wessel Kremer

Age: 31

Cap number: 140

Location: Amersfoort

Bike: My weapon of choice is the Cannondale Topstone 2 with 37mm slick WTB graveltires and a tri-bar mounted to it. I put a stealth pro saddle on it to prevent saddle sores :). The panniers on the back wont be used. They're for my commute only. However, I found out that due to it being there I can put a 1,5L bottle between the panniers and the saddlebag. :)

For me comfort is key, so i went for a variety possible hand positions and a not too agressive setting. Most participants will use a race bike, but I opted for the gravel bike, because it has a more solid feel on the road and the wider tires will provide additional comfort.

Key items of kit: Probably bringing too much stuff, but I still have the feeling that I'm going minimalistic :).

Frontbag: a vango blade tent (2kg) + rain gear (jacket and waterproof trousers). Toptubebag: food, food and some more food (especially bars) Framebag: heavy stuff like a 30.000 Mah powerbank, tools, spare tubes and sealant Bidons: 2 with water and 1 with multitools, zipties and spares Saddlebag: sleeping bag, liner, sleeping mat, extra set of cycling clothes and a set of sleeping clothes (it will get cold :))

The panniers on the bag normally hold two bags for my commute, but i found that they also carry a 1,5L bottle nicely.

I use two small lights on the back (no particular brand) and a Spanninga Thor light for the front.

My secret weapon: my amazing grandmother (beppe) made me a souvernir for during the trip :). The best mental support there is.
