Bike: This is no ordinary Canyon Grail. It features a homemade, part 3D-printed, part-CNC machined aluminum, bespoke aerobar kit. It is designed to fit on the infamous Grail hoverbar cockpit and includes custom Quadlock & Exposure Lights mounts. Tyres are 40mm Continental Terra Speed (tubeless), pushed by a SRAM AXS transmission on a humble 36T chainring matched with a 11-52T cassette. Karoo 2 for routing with a Garmin as a backup for navigation. Nights will become days thanks to a Toro and a Race Exposure Lights.

Key items of kit: Clothes for the night/rain, first aid kit, tools and spares are packed in Apidura bags, including the Expedition Accessory Pocket (customised as a standalone bag), and a ByMarion&Quentin frame bag. Power will come from a 25800mAh PD battery paired with a super-fast 65W charger. No sleeping kit. Secret item: a local saucisson as emergency food.
