Bike: My new Titanium Gloria All Road. Absolutely amazing piece of kit, this will be its first real adventure. It is super comfortable and goes like the wind, really deserves a fitter pilot!
I opted for 1x12 Force AXS for slick looks and an extra thing to charge. Running a 40 tooth chainring and a 10-44 cassette for some of those punchy 20% climbs. It has Gloria's own carbon hoops and came with WTB Exposure 30mm tyres which I can't fault so far.
I have a mixture of cheap and cheerful and luxury luggage - Columbus saddlebag, homemade bar bag with some TPRNo3 Tailfin straps, Apidura frame bag and top tube snack station. Wahoo will keep me on track and Planet X Selcof aero bars are a new addition to save the legs and hands.
Sleep system consists of sleeping bag and liner, bivvy and a new tarp just in case.
Key items of kit: I have made a few things for touring in my time but my favourite here is an aero bar bridge made from an electrolyte tube for my big light and phone to keep me going at night.
As I have the framebag I carry a Silva hydration vest with 2l bladder and plenty of pockets for more Cornish pasties / scones depending on where we are.

Bike: I’ll be riding my steel Genesis Fugio 30 (2021 edition), equipped with a GRX 810 mechanical groupset. I’ve upgraded the rear to an 11–46 cassette and paired it with a 40T oval chainring on 172.5mm cranks. The wheels are handbuilt SWS aluminum, rolling on 42mm René Herse tires for a great balance of speed and comfort. I’m running a SON dynamo hub powering both front and rear SON lights. And for a bit of extra comfort on those long, flat stretches (as if we’ll actually find any), I’ve added ZIPP aerobars.
Key items of kit: Word is we should be ready for all kinds of weather, so I’ll be packing a full sleep kit in the Tailfin handlebar bag—either with a quilt or just my down jacket, depending on the forecast. The saddle bag will carry spare layers and rain gear (which we’ll hopefully never need). The Apidura frame bag is reserved for spare tubes, chain oil, chamois cream, meds, and other essentials. Electronics and a few tools will go in the top tube bag, while the rest of the tools are stashed in the downtube pot.

Tried to keep it light…. Is in fact, heavy. Gravel frameset but have gone with 34mm Corsas to keep it rolling nicely. TPU tubes. 48:31 GRX chainrings and crank Ultegra 11spd everything else 11-32 cassette. Tempted to go 11:34 but if I can’t get up a road climb with ~sub 1:1 gear then I may as well be walking anyway!
