It's official: Liège-Paris-Liège 2024 has come to an end. Just a few minutes ago, the finish line closed, marking the end of this incredible event. Over the last six hours, we’ve welcomed more LBL finishers than in all the time before combined.

Well done, everyone! You made the most of your time and fully embraced the spirit of this amazing event. Great job! Unfortunately, none of the pairs successfully completed LPL this year, leaving that podium empty.

As we wrap up, it’s worth noting the intense competition between Laurens and Robert, with their epic battle ending just minutes apart on Saturday morning in Liège. Paul Watts rounded out the LPL podium in third place, while Mathilde was the first and only woman to complete LPL. Ladies, we want to see more of you at the starting line next year—don’t hesitate to sign up!

You may recall that Thibaut initially started LPL but had to withdraw due to a broken derailleur. Despite this setback, he secured 2nd place in LBL with a rental bike.

Congratulations to all the finishers in both competitions—you did an amazing job! We also want to thank all those who scratched for stepping up to the challenge and giving it a shot. Full respect to you.

Mathilde Wolff (#14) is the first woman to finish LPL24. She came in as the 12th rider with a time of 3d8h47m. On top of the hard 1150km, Mathilde's shiftee run out of batterie, leaving her just one gear. After pushing her bike up some climbs around Eupen, she met some friendly mountainbikers who helped her with a spare batterie to get her gears working again. Big congratulations to you Mathilde.

The rest of the field has still 6 hours to return to Liège. Assuming one can ride 100km in those 6 hours everybody who has crossed the German-Belgian border has a fair chance to make it on time. We'll salute all of these later finishers. So, keep going! Liège is waiting for you.

Mathilde Wolff (#14) est la première femme à terminer la LPL24. Elle est arrivée 12e avec un temps de 3j8h47m. En plus des 1150 km difficiles, la boîte de vitesses de Mathilde est tombée en panne de batterie, ne lui laissant qu'une seule vitesse. Après avoir poussé son vélo dans quelques montées autour d'Eupen, elle a rencontré des vététistes sympathiques qui l'ont aidée avec une batterie de rechange pour faire fonctionner à nouveau ses vitesses. Félicitations à toi Mathilde.

Le reste du peloton a encore 6 heures pour rentrer à Liège. En supposant que l'on puisse parcourir 100 km en 6 heures, tous ceux qui ont traversé la frontière germano-belge ont une chance d'arriver à temps. Nous saluons tous ces derniers arrivants. Alors, continuez ! Liège vous attend.

12 hours to go! Let’s take a look at the stats. In the LPL24 pairs competition, only Stefan and Anna (#6) remain, as the other three pairs have scratched. They’ve still got a long journey ahead—let’s see if they can make it to the finish on time.

In the Solo-LPL24 event, 9 riders have finished, 23 have scratched, and 27 are still out on the road. Among them are Mathilde and Wendy, the last two female riders left. Olaf (#68) is currently holding the honor of the red lantern—keep going, Olaf!

In the LBL24-Duo event, 5 pairs have already reached Liège, while 3 pairs are still making their way there. Additionally, 15 solo riders have completed the LBL24, with 9 more still on their way to Liège.

Good morning on the final day of the Liège-Paris-Liège challenge! Here’s a beautiful picture of the Rursee shared by Maribaut yesterday evening. If you’re already thinking about your next adventure after LPL, consider the Rursee Marathon on November 2nd. I tried myself, it's a stunning and challenging race.

But today, let’s focus on ultracycling. A big congratulations to Fanny Marchal (#120) for being the first female rider to complete Liège-Bouillon-Liège with an impressive time of 1d 20h 46m. Well done, Fanny!

We are also expecting the first female finisher of LPL24 and the first pair of LPL24 to arrive in Liège today. After two days of mild, warm, and sunny weather, the rain has finally arrived. Ewoud shared this photo while waiting in Einruhr, Germany, for the rain to pass. With thunderstorms in the forecast, some riders might need to seek shelter. Is it really necessary? Well, that's ultra-racing—you're expected to deal with whatever comes your way.

It seems quite a few cyclists have decided to stop for the night, likely taking the opportunity for an early break (and perhaps a bit more sleep) before restarting once the rain and storms subside. Smart move.

The leaderboard is also filling up. Edward and Samuel (#86) have become the third pair to complete LBL24. Congratulations to both of you!

More finishers are rolling in, but we're still waiting for the first solo woman to cross the finish line. Mathilde (#14) leads the women in LPL, currently ranking 9th overall. In LBL, Fanny (#120) is the top woman, holding 19th place. Keep going, ladies—we'll see you at the finish line!

Avec des orages annoncés, certains cyclistes pourraient devoir chercher un abri. Est-ce vraiment nécessaire ? Eh bien, c'est ça l'ultra-cyclisme—il faut s'adapter à toutes les situations.

Il semble qu'un bon nombre de cyclistes aient décidé de s'arrêter pour la nuit, probablement en profitant de l'occasion pour faire une pause anticipée (et peut-être dormir un peu plus) avant de repartir une fois que la pluie et les orages se seront calmés. Un choix avisé.

Le classement se remplit également. Edward et Samuel (#86) sont le troisième duo à avoir complété la LBL24. Félicitations à vous deux !

That was quick! Viktor Eklund (#123) completed Liège-Bouillon-Liège in just 24 hours and 43 minutes. After winning the LPL pair competition last year, Viktor has once again demonstrated his strength, claiming the crown at LBL24. Congratulations, Viktor—well done!

As expected, Laurens (#72) and Robert (#11) didn’t sleep again last night and are about to finish their LPL ride. Thibaut (#31) is with them, currently holding 2nd place in LBL—keep it up, Thibaut, and try not to break your derailleur again. ;)

C'était rapide ! Viktor Eklund (#123) a bouclé Liège-Bouillon-Liège en seulement 24 heures et 43 minutes. Après avoir remporté la compétition en duo de la LPL l'année dernière, Viktor montre à nouveau sa force et s'empare de la couronne à LBL24. Félicitations Viktor, très bien joué !

When you sleep outside, rest is usually brief, giving you the chance to savor the early morning hours. Feeling tired? Thinking about going to sleep? Some will, but others won’t. Our cyclists at the front, in particular, will likely stay awake through the night. In the LPL, Laurens is still leading, about 20 km ahead of Robert. Neither slept last night, and their stopping times have been incredibly short. Laurens has approximately 150 km left to the finish line. It’s going to be a tough night for both of them. ###### Vous vous sentez fatigué ? Envie de dormir ? Certains le feront, mais d'autres non. Meanwhile, Victor is leading the LBL field. On this pleasant Friday afternoon, the scene is lively as more riders from LBL reach the finish parcours, with familiar names still leading. Regrettably, we have some new withdrawals to share. Tom (#101), a former professional cyclist, had to withdraw due to stomach issues similar to those experienced by Benjamin (#27). Additionally, Thyl (#16), who started strong yesterday, had to end his race because of saddle sores. // Malheureusement, nous avons de nouveaux abandons à vous annoncer.
