Smoke Ring Challenge 2024 results

The 2024 Smoke Ring Challenge started off dry, and riders enjoyed the fast pace of the swift gravel and back roads north of the river, however the weather later became biblical which slowed progress for many. From the off, Harry Walton set a strong pace. Steve Day was in hot pursuit and stayed in touching distance until the weather and solo-riding mental challenge got the better of him. Hannah Williams made good on her DNF from the Bull Ring event earlier this year with a smashing ride leading the females throughout.  The torrential rain took no prisoners, causing GPS failures. As the race reached the harder southern section the riders hit more of the mountain bike focused sections leading to some challenges for those on faster-tyre setups in the slippy conditions. Lots of punctures were reported, causing even more DNF's.  Harry made it back first in the early hours of the morning followed by Ian Carter and Ade Tuckley respectively. Hannah came home joint 4th overall.
