British rider Darren Franks is currently holed up in Jackson, just south of the TABR route in Wyoming, with the mechanical issue that strikes fear into the heart of any ultra-racer: a broken frame.

Darren had reported speed wobbles earlier in the race, and a few days later, found the likely cause.

After hitching a ride to Jackson, from where he would be able to fix his problems, Darren reset his goals and began focusing on simply getting to finish. Like many, he's on a strict time schedule, with a return flight already booked. But while the challenge of making it to Yorktown in the 21 days he's allowed himself may have grown considerably, he's not giving up on it yet.
