Day 6

Bad weather has put a stop to many riders’ progress today, with a number of the top ten (Omar Di Felice, Todd Carpenter, Peter Jackson) opting to hide out in West Yellowstone. Two other top-tenners, Paolo Botti and Maximiliano Oliva, were holed up here too until braving the weather an hour or so ago:

Abdullah’s lead now stands at 300 miles. That’s at least one full day’s riding at pace for any of the other top racers, and at such an early stage in the event, it’s looking like first place might already be spoken for.
